ESD Antistatic Packaging
Proper ESD packaging protects components from the moment they leave the EPA zone until they reach the customer or are installed on site. Without the right packaging, all workplace protection loses its meaning.
How to choose the right packaging for the situation: Use an antistatic bag (pink poly) for components handled within the EPA zone or for less sensitive parts. Choose a shielding bag with a metallised layer whenever a component leaves the EPA zone — during shipping, transit or storage outside the protected area. Add ESD foam and dunnage for mechanically fragile or complex-shaped parts. A humidity indicator and desiccant are required for MSL components packed in moisture-barrier bags.
