ESD Wrist Straps
The wrist strap is the most widely used and most reliable way to ground an operator — it provides constant skin contact and, through a 1 MΩ safety resistor, safely dissipates charge to ground. Without a wrist strap or another grounding method, the requirements of IEC 61340-5-1 cannot be met.
How to choose the right type: A fixed wrist strap with a 1.8 m cord is the standard for seated work at an ESD bench — the cheapest and most reliable option, suitable for most service and assembly workplaces. An adjustable strap with various cord lengths is ideal for standing work or where greater freedom of movement is needed. A wireless wrist strap with a monitor and alarm is the solution for workplaces where a cord gets in the way, where there is a risk of the cord catching on machinery, or where the standard requires continuous contact logging for audits. A replacement cord without the strap is needed when the existing cord is damaged.
We offer fixed, adjustable and wireless versions with monitoring, plus testing devices for regular checks and spare cords and accessories.
Regular functional verification is a mandatory part of EPA zone management — contact us to select a suitable solution or to order a tester.
