ESD Storage & Containers
Component protection does not end at the workbench — during transfers between workstations, in storage or in transit, ESD-sensitive components are just as vulnerable as during assembly. An unsuitable container or shelf can cause discharge damage before the component ever reaches production.
Typical situations where you address ESD storage: you purchase components in bulk and need to store them safely before processing; you move work-in-progress boards or modules between workstations in the production hall; you are setting up storage for MSL components requiring humidity control; you need to clearly organise SMD feeders and reels; or you need to transport finished products safely within the facility.
